The Brand Compiler.

The Brand Compiler is the core of The Design Engine. It learns your brand the way your designers know it, moves existing files onto it, and checks each new file and AI draft before it ships.

What the engine knows about your brand.

Any tool can apply a color and a font. The engine also captures the judgment calls your designers make every day, and holds your files to them.

  1. Color rolesWhich color is primary and which is accent, when to tint and what each color means, such as action, success or warning. Every file follows the color logic your designers set.
  2. Layout logicMargins, grids, type scale and hierarchy, treated as rules, so a deck from sales and a data sheet from product look like they came from the same company.
  3. Logo rulesClear space, minimum size, approved color variants and backgrounds to avoid, applied everywhere. Stretched logos and squeezed wordmarks get caught.
  4. Your templates as the sourceMasters, layouts and placeholders are read from the templates you already approved and used as they are.
  5. Voice and claimsWords the brand uses and avoids, phrases AI overuses and statistics that need an approved source before they ship.
  6. What good looks likeApproved examples that show the engine how your brand handles a cover, a data slide, a speaker page or a product sheet.
How it works

How the Brand Compiler works

It covers the brand you approved, the files you already have, and the ones still to come.

Compile

Compile the brand

Your templates, guidelines, logos, fonts and approved examples become one versioned set of rules that every team and tool reads from.

  • Templates (.potx, .dotx), guidelines, logos, fonts, approved examples
  • One set of rules, versioned, that every tool reads from
  • Change a color or a logo once and every tool picks it up
Convert

Convert what exists

Existing files move onto the brand thousands at a time and come back as the same native files.

  • PowerPoint, Word, InDesign, Illustrator, Figma, video
  • Masters remapped; content, structure and data carried over
  • PDF-only collateral rebuilt as working files
Govern

Govern what ships

New files and AI drafts are checked before they go out, with a record of what changed.

  • Brand score and a compile report on every file
  • Unsourced claims, off-palette color and leftover AI tells caught
  • Versions, changes and approvals logged for each file

Works where your teams already work.

Files come back as PowerPoint, Word, InDesign, Illustrator, Figma and video, and the brand rules sit inside the AI assistants your teams already use.

Easy on IT. Easy on everyone else.

  1. One install for the organizationA brand lead sets up the brand once and IT rolls it out in a single step. There is no infrastructure to run.
  2. Nothing new for the people creatingSales, product and events teams keep working in the tools they know, and their files come out on brand without an extra step.
  3. Brand updates in one moveUpdate the brand once and every connected tool, and every new file, picks it up.
  4. A governance recordVersions, changes and approvals logged per file, so brand, legal and procurement can see what shipped and why.

Frequently asked questions

What is a brand compiler?

A brand compiler turns brand guidelines and templates into rules that software can apply. The Design Engine’s Brand Compiler reads your templates, logos, fonts and approved examples and produces a versioned set of brand rules that AI assistants and design tools follow.

What does it learn from our templates?

Color roles, layout logic, the type scale, logo rules, voice and claims, and what good looks like from your approved examples. It reads masters, layouts and placeholders straight from the templates you already approved.

How do brand updates roll out?

Update the brand once and every connected tool, and every new file, picks it up. Existing files can be converted to the update in the same way as a rebrand.

Does IT need to run any infrastructure?

No. A brand lead sets up the brand and IT rolls it out to the organization in one step. The Design Engine connects to the tools and AI assistants your teams already use.

How is it different from a DAM or a template tool?

A DAM stores approved files, and a template tool helps with new files built from a template. The Brand Compiler also converts files you already have and checks new files and AI drafts against your rules, in native formats.

See the Brand Compiler on your files.

Send us a template and a few existing files. On the call you’ll see your brand compiled and those files converted and scored.
